So it’s time again for “12-inches of Pleasure”. Chicago-born Lowrell Simon’s career goes back to the 60’s, when he was a singer with “The LaVondells”. Afterwards he formed the group “The Lost Generation”.
Under his own name ‘Lowrell’, he released the self titled album in 1979. Several band members of “The Lost Generation” worked on his album.
The song that is important to me on the album is “Mellow Mellow Right On”, which this #12inchesofpleasure is all about. The song has a classic, laid back dance grooves that many are familiar with due to it being sampled by Massive Attack for “Lately” and Common with “Reminding Me (Of Sef).
For me this is a really nicely produced record that is actually danceable, but also fits well into a more laidback setting.
So sit back and take in these “12-inches of Pleasure” 😄
