To kick things off, I decided to go for First Love’s “Party Lights” on CIM Records. This group released an album and several singles. This particular 12-inch was released in 1982 – a period in which many beautiful Boogie records were released.
For me this record is a more uptempo Boogie record with a characteristic four on the floor beat and a fat electro bass. It’s a record that I don’t come across or hear often in sets and I think it should get more play. Same goes for their other 12-inch from the same LP “It’s a Mystery To Me”. Both are stunning records to play in your set.
Enjoy our first 12-inches of Pleasure post.
